Justification for classification or non-classification

Due to the lack of a carcinogenic potential of isobutanol, there is currently no need for classification and labeling.

Additional information

There were no experimental data available.

Due to the lack of mutagenicity, a cancerogenic potential of isobutanol based mutagenic effects can widely be ruled out. Additionally, no structural fragments were found in a structure-activity-relationship model (CASE) indicating a carcinogenic potential. Thus, there is at present no evidence for a carcinogenic potential of isobutanol. Therefore a carcinogenicity study is not justified.
