Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

NOEC (14d) ≥ 36.67 mg/L for activated sludge microorganisms (OECD 301B)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of Oleic acid, monoester with oxybis(propandiol) (CAS 49553-76-6) to microorganisms was investigated in a biodegradation study according to OECD 301B under GLP conditions (Berti, 2012). The study was performed with domestic activated sludge microorganisms. A toxicity control included in the biodegradation study with a test item concentration of 36.67 mg/L reached greater than 25% biodegradation within 14 days (66.8% after 21 d). Thus, the test substance is not inhibitory to microorganisms. According to ECHA Guidance R.7b (ECHA, 2012) the test item concentration can be used as NOEC value for the toxicity to activated sludge microorganisms. Thus, a NOEC (21d) of ≥ 36.67 mg/L resulted.
