Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Two reliable studies are available for the short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates of CHIMEXANE NV. Both studies were performed on Daphnia magna under static conditions without renewal of test medium. In L'Haridon (2003) study, measured concentrations deviated significantly from nominal ones and results were based on nominal concentrations; this was considered as a restriction. However, the results obtained in L'Haridon (2003) were closed to the ones obtained in a second study assessed by reliability 2 for this endpoint (Peither, 2004). A few deviations were observed in Peither (2004) including the lack of certificate of analysis in the study report, lack of data on test organisms acclimation. L'Haridon (2003) reported a 48h-EC50 of 0.875 mg/L and a 48h-NOEC of 0.500 mg/L based on immobility. Peither (2004) reported a 48h-EC50 of 1.1 mg/L and a 48h-NOEC of 0.23 mg/L based on immobility. The study of L'Haridon (2003) was determined as key study as this study provides the lowest 48h-EC50 for short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates.
