Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling

Description of key information

Boiling point (BHMT-H): BHMT-H will undergo thermal decomposition without boiling

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The requirement to test the boiling point of BHMT-H was waived because the substance decomposes without boiling. This statement is supported by the evidence from a DSC study which demonstrates that the anhydrous form of the substance undergoes thermal decomposition from approximately 80°C. See melting point study reported in Section 4.2.

In secondary sources to which no reliability could be assigned, the substance as an aqueous solution was reported to have boiling temperature values of 100°C, >100°C and 107°C, with a decomposition temperature of 200°C following the evaporation of water.
