Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Relative self ignition (BHMT-H): data waiver due to presence of water

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The preparation of a dry sample of the substance for testing was not possible. The substance has a strong tendency for water absorption, and the presence of water would suppress any self-ignition hazard from being expressed. Furthermore at this time, this substance is only available commercially in the form of an aqueous solution. This conclusion is supported by available hygroscopy study report (Liebsch 2013, Section 4.27). Therefore, the substance is expected to have low potential to exhibit this hazard.

HMDTMP-H is a named impurity in the registered substance. No relative self-ignition was observed below the melting or decomposition temperature in a standard test conducted in accordance with EU Method A.16 for the HMDTMP-H.
