Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The melting point / melting range is determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The test
item and the reference are heated up from the starting temperature to the final temperature at a
constant heating rate in a defined atmosphere (nitrogen). Open crucibles are used as containers for
the test item and as empty reference crucible. The quantity of heat absorbed or released is measured
and recorded.
