Key result
Remarks on result:
no flash point according to standard method

Preliminary test

It was visually observed that the test item reaction and/or decomposition at approximately 205°C. No flammable vapour/air mixture was produced at temperatures below the temperature at which reaction and/or decomposition of the test item occurred. From this, it was concluded that the test item has no flash point.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of Glyceryl triacetyl ricinoleate.
No flash-point was observed below the temperature at which reaction and/or decomposition of the test item occurred.
Executive summary:

In this guideline (EU A.9) study, conducted with GLP certification, the closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of Glyceryl triacetyl ricinoleate.

No flash-point was observed below the temperature at which reaction and/or decomposition of the test item occurred.

Description of key information

Study performed to recognised study guidelines with GLP certification.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No flash-point was observed below the temperature at which reaction and/or decomposition of the test item occurred.
