Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Suitable experimental data testing the toxicity of N-(2-aminoethyl)-N’-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine (CAS 35141-30-1) towards aquatic organisms were not available. Therefore appropriate read across data from N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (CAS 1760-24-3) were used. Information on the read across approach can be found in the attached justification in the respective target entry and in the overall justification for grouping of substances attached in IUCLID Section 13.

All studies with the target and the source substances were performed according to appropriate OECD or EU guidelines and mostly GLP standards.

Short term results showed that algae is the most sensitive species (ErC50 (72 h) = 8.8 mg/L) followed by aquatic invertebrates (EC50 (48 h) = 81 mg/L) while only slight effects at very high concentrations (>100 mg/L) were recorded for fish (EC50 (96 h) = 597 mg/L). Long term data were available only for algae with a NOErC (72 h) of 3.1 mg/L (nominal).

Furthermore the study with the source substance N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (CAS 1760-24-3) and Pseudomonas putida resulted in growth inhibition values of 67 mg/L (EC50) and 25 mg/L (EC10) after 16 h of exposure.
