Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
surface tension
Data waiving:
other justification
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because water solubility is below 1 mg/L at 20°C
Justification for type of information:
Surface Tension test was exempted due to low solubility (the water solubility is below 1 mg/l at 20 °C, see 4.8 Water solubility).
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to other study
Remarks:
Water solubility
Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2018-10-11
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
< 0.001 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: No data on pH value was provided. pH-value see 4.20.

Preliminary estimation:

Mass of sample (mg) Volume of water in which sample dissolves (ml) Estimated solubility (g.L-1 ) Analysis method
1 1001 < 0.01 N/A

Estimated Water Solubility (g.L-1): < 0.001.

Analysis Apparatus, Method and Test Conditions:

Temperature of determination (°C) : 20 ; pH of water : 7.08 .

Comment: For the preliminary estimation the majority of the 1 mg of sample did not dissolve in water after shaking and sonication for 30 minutes. Therefore it is expected that the solubility of the sample is below the limit of detection on the HPLC system.

Conclusions:
The test subtance Fatty Acids, C14-C18 and C16-18-unsatd., ammonium salts is difficult to dissolve or insoluble in water (Water Solubility (20°C): <1 mg/L).
Executive summary:

Water Solubility of Fatty Acids, C14-C18 and C16-18-unsatd., ammonium salts at 20°C is <1 mg/L.
