Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Acute toxicity studies evaluating the toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms are available for four different trophic levels. All studies were performed according to international guidelines and GLP. Aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna) turned out to be the most sensitive species with an 48-hour EC50 of 8.8 mg/L followed by freshwater fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss; 96-hour LC50: 17.1 mg/L) and aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata; 72-hour ErC50 of 21 mg/L) based on inhibition of growth.

The toxicity to the microbial community was studied in a 3-hour static Limit test. The activated sludge was exposed to the test item concentration of 62.5 mg/L which corresponds to the highest test concentration that could be prepared due to the limited solubility of the test material in water. The 3-hour EC50 value for inhibition of respiration was determined to be >62.5 mg/L. No inhibition of the degradation process in sewage treatment plants is expected.
