Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
flammable gases
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be soluble in water to form a stable mixture
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Additional information

A.10: In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XI a test according to A.10 (flammability solids) is not considered to be required, since the test item is a liquid with a melting point of < -20 °C and a decomposition temperature of 149.85 °C, and therefore not a solid at room temperature.

A.11: In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XI a test according to A.11 (flammability gases) is not considered to be required, since the test item is a liquid with a melting point of < -20 °C and a decomposition temperature of 149.85 °C, and therefore not a gas at room temperature.

A.12: In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XI a test according to A.12 (flammability in contact with water) is not considered to be required, because the test item does not contain groups that might lead to a reaction with water or damp air, leading to the development of dangerous amounts of gas or gases which may be highly flammable.

A.13: In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XI a test according to A.13 (pyrophoric properties of solids and liquids) is not considered to be required, since the test item is stable at ambient temperature. The test item does not contain any chemical group that might lead to spontaneous ignition a short time after coming in contact with air at room temperature (circa 20 °C). Furthermore, experience in handling shows that the test item does not ignite in contact with air.
