Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance is acutely harmful for aquatic algae. However, based on the EC10, the test substance is very likely chronicly not harmful to aquatic algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP guideline study according OECD 201 using Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata has been conducted (BASF SE 2015). Due to the very low solubility of the test item saturated solutions have been tested. Although the concentration of the dissolved test substance itself could not be measured (water solubility is below the analytical LoQ), all reasonable efforts were taken to produce saturated solutions of the test substance in test media, following the guidance in OECD 23. However, the test substance may release soluble copper into the test water as an impurity. Therefore, the copper content was measured in the test solutions. But, only traces of copper were found in the test solutions. After 72 h of exposure an ErC50 of 15.5 mg/L and an ErC10 of 6 mg/L have been obtained. Therefore, the test substance is acutely harmful for aquatic algae. However, based on the EC10, the test substance is very likely chronically not harmful to aquatic algae.
