First-aid measures
General information:
Where there is a risk of unconsciousness place and transport on one side in a stable position. In case of accident or if you feel unwell seek medical
advice immediately (show the label if possible).
After inhalation:
Move to fresh air, keep the victim laying down and restful. If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration. Seek medical advice and clearly identify substance.
After contact with the skin:
Immediately rinse with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothes at once. In serious cases, use emergency shower immediately. Seek
medical advice and clearly identify substance.
After contact with the eyes:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water for 10-15 minutes and seek medical advice. Keep eyelids well open to rinse the whole eye surface and eyelids
with water. Continue to bathe eyes during transport to medical practitioner.
After swallowing:
If conscious, give several small portions of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice immediately and produce the label or
packaging.
Fire-fighting measures
General information:
Fight fire from a safe distance.
Suitable extinguishing media:
water spray, extinguishing powder, foam, carbon dioxide .
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:
water jet .
Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases:
Hazardous combustion products: hydrogen chloride .
Special protective equipment for fire fighting:
Use respiratory protection independent of recirculated air.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions:
Wear personal protection equipment (see section 8). Task force: Use tightly fitting chemical protection suit (see section 8). Keep unprotected
persons away. Take persons to a safe place. Avoid inhaling mists and vapours. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Observe wind direction.
Environmental precautions:
Prevent material from entering sewers or surface waters. Contain any fluid that runs out using suitable material (e.g. earth). Dispose of in
prescribed marked containers. Observe local/state/federal regulations.
Methods for cleaning up:
Absorb with a liquid binding material such as diatomaceous earth and dispose of according to local/state/federal regulations.
For small amounts: Cover with calcium oxide. Contain larger amounts and pump up into suitable containers.
Further information:
Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Handling and storage
General information:
Avoid exposure by technical measures or personal protective equipment.
Handling:
Precautions for safe handling:
Ensure adequate ventilation. Must be syphoned off in situ. Keep away from incompatible substances in accordance with section 10.2.
Precautions against fire and explosion:
Cool endangered containers with water. Flammable vapors may accumulate and form explosive mixtures with air in containers, process vessels,
including partial, empty and uncleaned containers and vessels, or other enclosed spaces.
Storage:
Conditions for storage rooms and vessels:
Protect against frost. Unsuitable material for storage containers, casks and pipelines: light metals and their alloys , iron , steel , zinc .
Test the suitability of materials for storage vessels, containers and piping.
Advice for storage of incompatible materials:
Observe national regulations in accordance with section 15. Observe local/state/federal regulations.
Further information for storage:
Store in the original container. Keep container dry and tightly closed. Store cool.
Minimum temperature allowed during storage and transportation: 10 °C

Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure limits:
-
Exposure limited and controlled:
Exposure in the work place limited and controlled:
General protection and hygiene measures:
Avoid exposure. Remove contaminated, soaked clothing immediately. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not breathe vapours. Do not eat, drink or
smoke when handling. Keep working clothes separately. Provide work station with emergency shower and eye-bath.
Personal protection equipment:
Respiratory protection:
Respiratory protection required. gas mask filter ABEK P2 . In case of long or strong exposure: positive pressure self contained breathing apparatus ..
Hand protection:
Protective gloves generally only suitable as splash protection. Protective gloves made of butyl rubber (0,5 mm) . protective gloves made of fluorinated rubber (0,4 mm) . Due to the substance‘s properties, contaminated gloves must be immediately decontaminated and changed. The permeation time is reduced by mechanical and thermal stresses above 20°C. The selection of appropriate gloves not only depends on the material, but also on other quality characteristics, and may vary depending on the manufacturer. Please observe information from your glove supplier in terms of permeability and breakthrough time.
Eye protection:
tight fitting protective goggles .
Skin protection:
full protective suit . Immediately decontaminate and change contaminated protective clothing.
Exposure to the environment limited and controlled:
Prevent material from entering surface waters, drains or sewers and soil. If large amounts are introduced into sewerage inform responsible
authorities immediately.
Further information for system design and engineering measures:
Use only in closed systems.
Stability and reactivity
General information:
If stored and handled in accordance with standard industrial practices no hazardous reactions are known.
Conditions to avoid:
none known .
Materials to avoid:
Reacts violently with: basic substances . Reaction causes the formation of heat .
Hazardous decomposition products:
If stored and handled in accordance with standard industrial practices and local regulations where applicable: none known .
Disposal considerations
Material:
Recommendation:
Dispose of according to regulations by incineration in a special waste incinerator. Observe local/state/federal regulations.
Uncleaned packaging:
Recommendation:
Completely discharge containers (no tear drops, no powder rest, scraped carefully). Containers may be recycled or re-used.
Observe local/state/federal regulations. Uncleaned packaging should be treated with the same precautions as the material.
