Description of key information
There is no valid carcinogenicity study available.
However, taken into account the negative mutagenicity data based on reliable GLP and OECD guideline conform studies for propan-1 -ol there are no indications for a cancerogenic potential. Thus, cancerogenicity is considered to be no endpoint of concern.

Data available are limited and are regarded to be insufficient for a proper assessment. However, reliable guideline-conform in vitro genetic toxicity tests all demonstrate that propan-1 -ol is not genotoxic. Furthermore, subchronic toxicity studies do not indicate any carcinogenic potential. Therefore, carcinogenicitiy is regarded to be no endpoint of concern and testing is considered to be not warranted.
