Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
Preparation of test samples of container material and examination of the corrosion rate according to Method VO-TSP-P-006 Vers. 1, 2005 of R+M Industryservice GmbH. Execution of the corrosion experiment (details below) with authentic production sample of 3,5-dichlororaniline in standard lab equipment in laboratory of AllessaChemie GmbH.
GLP compliance:

Test material

Constituent 1
Chemical structure
Reference substance name:
3,5-dichloroaniline
EC Number:
210-948-9
EC Name:
3,5-dichloroaniline
Cas Number:
626-43-7
Molecular formula:
C6H5Cl2N
IUPAC Name:
3,5-dichloroaniline
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Weighed norm test samples of container material (steel) where heated in the stirred test material under normal atmosphere at 80°C for 309 h in a laboratory of AllessaChemie GmbH. The test samples where then examined in an accredited laboratory of R+M Industryservice GmbH.

Results and discussion

Results:
The material was found to be stable towards container material steel 1.0425. The corrosion rate was < 0.01 mm/year.
Also stable are stainless steels 1.4571 and 1.4539 where no corrosion rates detectable.
Transformation products:
