Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Readily biodegradable: 92% in 28 days (ISO BODIS Test)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study evaluating the potential for ready biodegradability of propane-1,2,3-triyl trisheptanoate (CAS No. 620-67-7) is available (Scholz, 1993). This test was conducted according to BOD-Test for Insoluble Substances, method equivalent to ISO Guideline 10708 , under GLP conditions. Activated sludge was exposed for 28 days to the test substance and biodegradation followed by measuring O2 consumption in the test vessels. The results of this test show extensive biodegradation of the substance, reaching 92% after 28 days and fulfilling the 14-day window criterion (valid for Closed Bottle method).

Therefore, propane-1,2,3-triyl trisheptanoate can be considered as readily biodegradable.
