Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study investigating the toxicity of Bis(2 -ethylhexyl) azelate (CAS 103-24-2) to freshwater algae is available. The static study was conducted by a Japanese authority according to GLP and OECD guideline 201 using Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata as test organism (MOE, 2004). A technical product of the substance (77.2% purity) was tested at a nominal test concentration of 0.1 mg/L using HCO-40 as vehicle. The initial test concentration was measured to be 0.0845 mg/L. The concentration after 72 hours was notably lower and not within 20 % of nominal concentration. The EC 50 (72 h) for growth rate is determined to be > 0.0845 mg/L and the NOEC (72 h) for growth rate is determined to be ≥ 0.0845 mg/L on the basis of the initial test concentration, which can be considered as highest achievable test substance concentration using a vehicle under test conditions.
