EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

No data on the toxicity of octanoyl chloride in microorganisms is available. However, since the test substance rapidly hydrolyses in water invertebrates are mainly exposed to the hydrolysis product, octanoic acid.

Data presented in the ECB IUCLID data set report an EC10 of 100 mg/L in a growth inhibition test on Pseudomonas putida (Henkel KGaA cited in ECB, 2000). Results of this test can be used for the calculation of the PNECmicroorganisms since no other relevant data are available.
