Additional information

2 -Nitropropane has a high water solubility (>10,000 mg/L) and a low log Kow (1.35). Thus, the compound will have little tendency to adsorb to soil or sediments or bioaccumulate. 2-Nitropropane is stable in water. The compound is not readily biodegradable, though slow biodegradation is expected in the environment. Upon release to the atmosphere, the compound will react with hydroxyl radicals with a predicted half-life of 95 days.
