Only one study is available which was performed to assess the acute toxicity of Dihydrolipoic Acid to Daphnia magna. The method followed that described in OECD 202 and EU-Method C.2.

The 48-Hour EC50 for Dihydrolipoic Acid to Daphnia magna based on nominal test concentrations was 5.0 mg/Lwith 95 % confidence limits of 4.3 - 5.8 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Concentration was 1.8 mg/L
