3,5 -Dimethylpyridine is a yellowish liquid with a distinctive unpleasant odor. It freezes at a temperature of -6.6 degrees C, and boils at 172 degrees C. It has a flash point of 57 degrees C, and so is considered a flammable liquid (Category 3, Regulation EC No. 1272/2008). It is soluble in water and has a log Kow of 1.78. It has a low vapour pressure of 0.2314 kPa (1.74 mm Hg).
