Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is a non flammable solid. It does neither possess pyrophoric properties nor emit flammable gases in contact with water. Furthermore, the substance is not self-heating.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The flammability temperature is determined in a guideline study following the quality management system of GLP. No or only minor deviations with respect to the guideline could be detected during determination. The result could therefore be considered as valid and is chosen as key value for the chemical safety assessment.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the pyrophoric properties study does not need to be conducted as based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties are not to be expected.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the water reactivity study does not need to be conducted as based on chemical structure water reactivity is not to be expected.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the UN test N 4 for self-heating substances and mixtures does not need to be conducted as the onset temperature is greater than 220 °C in the Grewer Oven test (screening test).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance does not need to be considered for a classification as flammable since for all endpoints a classification could be excluded either on the basis of an experimental study or on the chemical structure.
