In a first test, the temperature was increased by successive steps of +5 °C, using 4 mL of sample, flashing occurred at 165 °C.


 


The procedure was reproduced in duplicate using a new 4 mL sample, for each of the replicate test and temperature increased by successive steps of 0.5 °C: flashing occurred at 162.5 °C in both cases.


 


The mean flash point was determined to be 162.5 °C (rounded down, for safety reason, for accuracy).

Executive summary:

The flash point of the test substance was determined under GLP according to EU A.9 guideline, using
an equilibrium closed cup method with Setaflash apparatus.


In a screening test the flashing occurred 165 °C with increase in temperature of +5.0 °C. Replicate test were performed with increase in temperature of 0.5 °C in which flashing occurred at 162.5 °C in every case.


The flash point of test item was determined to be 162°C.


 


The flash point of the test substance is above the classification thresholds of 60 °C (CLP criteria) and 93 °C (GHS criteria). Therefore, the test substance is NOT a flammable liquid according to CLP and GHS.
