Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

EC50 (48h) > 100 mg/L (nominal) for Daphnia magna (OECD 202)
measured concentrations after 48 h: 3.96 mg Mo/L, 0.038 mg Al/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a GLP guideline study by Muckle (2013) conducted according to OECD 202, Daphnia magna were exposed to a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L in a static limit test. One day before the start of the test, a filtered test solution was prepared (24 h shaking, 0.45 µm filter).

At the beginning and at the end of the test, the content of molybdenum and aluminium as components of the test item (10.1% Al and 53.9% Mo) was measured using a validated AAS-method. After 48 h, 3.96 mg Mo/L and 0.038 mg Al/L was determined. The measured concentration of both elements showed sufficient stability under test condition (100% recovery for Mo and 93% recovery for Al after 48 hours). No mortalities or any abnormal behaviour were observed. Thus, the 96h-LC50 and NOEC were determined to be >100 mg/L and 100 mg/L, respectively, based on nominal concentrations.
