Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to algae: 72 h ErC50 >2.2 µg/L and NOEC: =2.2 µg/L (geometric mean measured, highest concentration tested).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A 72-hour EC50 value of >2.2 µg/L and NOEC of =2.2 µg/L (geometric mean measured, highest concentration tested) (guideline OECD 201) have been determined for the effects of the analogous/structurally related substance decamethyltetrasiloxane (L4, CAS 141-62-8) on growth rate of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. In view of the static regime of the test, and the neutral pH for the first two days of the test, it is likely that the test organisms will have been exposed, predominantly, to the parent substance.
