Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A number of acute aquatic toxicity tests with the substance in different freshwater species representing all three trophic levels are available. There was no acute toxicity in freshwater fish (Danio rerio, 96-hours static, LC50 >1000 mg/L), in freshwater invertebrates (Daphnia magna, 48-hours static, EC50 > 100 mg/L) and in freshwater green algae (Scenedesmus subspicatus, 72-hours static, EC50 = 184.8 mg/L). Studies on the long-term toxicity of the substance to aquatic freshwater as well as marine organisms are considered to be not required as low toxicity was seen in with fish and Daphnids. Further, exposure considerations dictate, that exposure is expected to be controlled owing to the fact that nearly all wastewater from manufacturing and processing of DMPPA_701-402-5 is sampled and incinerated as hazardous waste. The IC50 value in a 3-hour activated sludge respiration inhibition test was >320 mg/L and the NOEC was 320 mg/L.

Therefore, DMMPA is expected to not pose hazards to the aquatic organisms.
