Details on preparation and application of test substrate:
60 earthworms (six replicates of 10 worms) were exposed to a single concentration of 1000 mg/kg of soil for a period of 14 days at a temperature of 19 to 23C. The number of mortalities were determined after 7 and 14 days exposure.
Vehicle: tetrahydrofuran
Test organisms (species):
Eisenia fetida
Animal group:
annelids
Details on test organisms:
60 earthworms (six replicates of 10 worms). Earthworms were obtained from the Original Organics Limited and maintained in 20 litre plastic trays at a temperature of 21C to 22C on a substrate consisting of 50% by volume of top soil and 50% by volume of animal manure. Transferred 24 hours prior to the start of the test to the artificial soil (without test substance).

Additional information

Key study

In an OECD 207 study conducted under GLP conditions, the 14 -day NOEC and LC50 of Molyvan 855 for earthworms (Eisenia foetida) is > 1000 mg/kg soil dw (Harlan Laboratories, 2011).
