Description of key information
Physico-chemical properties of registered substance were determined from experimental testing, except Vapour pressure, Partition coefficient and Water solubility that were derived in a constituents approach from QSAR estimations on constituents. Some endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure of known constituents or experience in handling and use of the substance.
The substance is a clear yellowish mobile liquid at ambient temperatureIt is expected to float over water, because of its low relative density (0.89). The substance contains constituents having different water solubilities and volatilities.
The substance is classified as NOT FLAMMABLE LIQUID based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation).
No hazard was identified with regard to physical properties (explosivity, oxidising properties, self-heating substance) based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS).
Additional information
Summary of relevant physico-chemical properties:
Endpoint (method) |
Data |
Appearance at 20°C and 1 atm. (visual observation) |
Clear yellowish mobile liquid |
Freezing point (OECD 102/EU A1, DSC analysis) |
The freezing point of registered substance is stated as <-20°C |
Boiling point (OECD 103/EU A2, DSC analysis) |
The boiling range was within (160 - 385 °C) using DSC method. |
Relative density (EU A3, oscillating densimeter) |
The test substance is less dense than water. The mean relative density of the test item was D20/4 = 0.89 ± 0,01 |
Granulometry (data waiving) |
Study scientifically not necessary (liquid) |
Vapour pressure (Constituent approach - QSAR estimations on constituents) |
The vapour pressure of the constituents of the substance (10 major components of the substance covering more than 85% of the composition) are in the range between 4.69E-04 ando 533 Pa at 25°C (estimated by QSAR). |
Log Kow (Constituent approach - QSAR data on constituents) |
The partition coefficients of 10 constituents of the substance (covering more than 85% of the composition) were estimated in the range between 3.1 and 8.9 at 25°C (valid QSAR estimations). |
Water solubility (Constituent approach - QSAR data on constituents) |
The apparent water solubilities of the constituents of the substance at ambient temperature (10 components covering more than 85% of the composition) were determined to be between6.41E-063 and 106 mg/L each at 25°C (estimations based on valid QSAR estimations). |
Surface tension (data waiving) |
Waived considering that surface activity is not the intended use of the substance (i.e. not a desired property). |
Auto-flammability (EU A15 DIN51794) |
The auto-ignition temperature of the test item is stated as 250°C. No particular hazard is anticipated in normal conditions of storage |
Flash-point (EU A9, ISO 3679, equilibrium closed cup)
Flammability air/water (data waiving) Self-heating substances/mixtures (data waiving) |
The flash point of the test item was stated as 77°C. The substance is NOT classified as a Flammable Liquid according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP criteria).
Note that the result obtained on this kind of substance should be largely influence by small amounts of volatile constituents. Waived based on experience in handling, testing and use and chemical structure of known constituents of the substance. NOT flammable if contact with air or water Waived based on physical state (liquid) NO self-heating substance anticipated. |
Explosive properties (data waiving) |
Waived based on chemical structure of the known constituents of the substance and experience in handling and use of this type of substance. LOW potential for explosive properties |
Oxidising properties (data waiving) |
Waived based on chemical structure of known constituents of the substance. LOW potential for oxidizing properties. |
Slight variations are possible with composition (UVCB substance).
