Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Any other information on results incl. tables

10% Test Substance: The sample ignited and combustion propagated fully (200 mm) with flame: Burning time 210 sec

30% Test Substance: The sample ignited and smouldered for 10 min propagating only 1 cm of the initial burning distance. It self-extinguished before the smouldering had propagated to the first timing mark.

60% Test Substance: The sample ignited and then smouldered 4 cm in 40 mins before self-extinguishing.

80% Test Substance: The sample ignited and then smouldered 8 cm in 60 min before self-extinguishing.

A reduced testing programme was employed because the slow burning rate of the test substance mixtures, relative to that of the reference mixture, adequately demonstrates that the test substance is attenuating the burning properties of cellulose and not enhancing them.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Under the study condition, test substance was determined to be non-oxidising.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine oxidising properties of the substance, according to EU method A.17. Under the study condition, test substance was determined to be non-oxidising (Harpar, 1989).
