Additional information

Please note that numerous studies are available describing the effects of chloroacetophenone, which however refer to the active ingredient CN in tear gas (CAS: 532 -27 -4, IUPAC name: 2 -chloro-1 -phenylethanone). In contrast to 2 -chloro-1 -phenylethanone, which is chlorinated at the side chain, 4´-chloroacetophenone (CAS: 99 -91 -02, IUPAC name: 1-(4-chlorophenyl)ethanone) is chlorinated at the core and therefore clearly less reactive. Thus studies using 2 -chloro-1 -phenylethanone are not considered representative for the toxicity assessment of 1-(4-chlorophenyl)ethanone.
