Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Reliability:
- 2 (reliable with restrictions)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- other: see 'Remark'
- Remarks:
- The test was performed according to French Standard, which was similar to OECD test guideline 202. Although there was no declaration of the GLP compliance, the study still can be considered as reliable, because it was compliant with ISO 17025, which was also accepted worldwide.

Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Remarks:
- The test was performed similar to OECD test guideline 202. The validation conditions were fulfilled simultaneously, so the results for iodide can be considered as valid
- Conclusions:
- The 48h- EC50 immobilization of iodide to daphnia was 7.5 mg/l.
- Executive summary:
The acute toxicity to daphnia of iodide was determined (Laboratoire d'Ecotoxicologie Parc technologique ALATA, 1996) according to method of “French standard”, which was similar to OECD test guideline 202. After 48 hours exposure period, the EC50 of immobilization was measured. The result of 48 hrs- EC50 was 7.5 mg/l.
