Short-term toxicity test to fish, daphnia and algae were performed. The tests were conducted under GLP. Fish was the most sensitive organism with a LC50 of 0.406 mg/L, followed by daphnia with an EC50 of 33.6 mg/L. For algae, ErC50 and EbC50 of 85.4 mg/L and 57.6 mg/L were observed, respectively. The results indicate that the test item is acute toxic to aquatic organisms.

Further, the effect of DV6850 on the respiration rate of activated sludge was assessed in a valid GLP study. DV6850 was considered to have had no effect on the respiration rate of activated sludge at any of the concentrations employed in the test. The EC50 of the test substance could not, therefore, be calculated but it must be greater than 100 mg/L, the highest level tested.
