In this test it was found that the test substance has a melting range of approximately 343-393 K (70 - 120°C). With increasing temperature, starting at approximately 459 K (186°C), the colour of the test substance changed gradually from whitish into brown. The test substance remained brown after cooling. The melting point/melting range measurement in the main study were started at approximately 35 K (62°C). The temperature rise during the main study varied from 1 to 3 K/min.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The melting process started at approximately 343K (70°C) and ended at approximately 393K (120°C). After the melting process was completed, the test substance colour changed into ligh yellow. This change in colour might have indicated decomposition, rearrangement and/or auto-oxidation.
In conclusion, the temperature at the beginning and at the final stage of melting process of ADDOTTO GM 102E/BAF is 343 - 393K (70 - 120°C). The test substance started to decompose after melting.
