Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
flammable gases
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water

Description of key information

The substance is considered to be a flammable liquid (Category 3).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

The test item is a liquid. Thus, no testing was conducted for the following endpoints:

Flammable solids (reference 4.13-1)

Flammable gases (reference 4.13-2)

Pyrophoric solids (reference 4.13-3)

Self-heating substances/mixtures (reference 4.13-6)

Pyrophoric liquids (reference 4.13-4)

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time.

Substances/mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases (reference 4.13-5)

The study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water.

Flammable liquids/ Flash point (reference 4.11-1)

The flash point was determined according to EU method A.9 in a closed cup experiment according to rapid equilibrium method. The test item was filled into the test vessel and the flash point is determined with temperature steps of 0.5 K. For each temperature step a fresh sample was used. The main test was performed at constant temperature and equilibrium conditions. The final flash point rounded down with an accuracy of 0.5 K was determined to be 36.0 °C.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008
The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. Based on available data from flash point determiniation the test item is considered to be a flammable liquid (Category 3, H226: Flammable liquid and vapour).
