Description of key information

Not readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the test item was investigated in a guideline study conducted in compliance with OECD 301 A (DOC Die-Away Test). Based on DOC removal, < 10% biodegradation of the test substance was observed after 28 days by domestic activated sludge (BASF, 2003).

Furthermore to support these findings two reports (BASF, 1988) were conducted to assess the biodegradability. A poor elemination from water was shown in a test with activated sludge.
