Additional information

Fatty acids, coco, esters with 1,3-butanediol (CAS 73138-39-3) bears an overall low water solubility (depending on the chain length of the constituent), a very low vapor pressure (< 0.001 Pa at 20 °C) and a moderate to high adsorption potential (log Koc: 2.76 – 10.21, at 25 °C). Based on these parameters if the substance is released into the environment, it is expected to mainly partition to organic matter attached at sediment and soil particles. Furthermore, a significant removal through adsorption on activated sludge in sewage treatment plants is anticipated. Evaporation and the subsequent transport via the atmospheric compartment is not expected due to the low vapour pressure.
