Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The following data were obtained for Similar Substance 1. It is expected that the Target substance will present similar effect levels to microorganisms. Justification for Read Across is given in Section 13 of IUCLID.

In a GLP guideline study according to OECD 209, the effects of the test item on micro-organisms from activated sludge by measuring oxygen consumption has been evaluated. After 3 h of exposure up to 1000 mg/kg, no effects on the respiration rate have been measured. Therefore, the EC10, EC20, EC50 and EC80 were determined to be > 1000 mg/L.

Additionally, the toxicity to microorganisms has been determined according DIN 38412 part 27 using Pseudomonas putida. After 30 min exposure the oxygen consumption has been measured. The EC10, EC50 and EC90 was determined to be above 10000 mg/L.

Therefore, the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced to biological treatment plants in appropriate low concentrations.
