Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2015-11-11 to 2015-11-12
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Storage conditions: ambient temperature (10 – 30 °C)
Relative self-ignition temperature:
372 °C

An endothermal effect was recorded in the temperature range between 205°C and 225°C directly lead into an exothermal effect.

The test item reached 400°C by an corresponding oven temperature of 372°C.

After the test substance was black and significant reduced in volume.

Description of key information

A self-ignition temperature of 372 °C was observed according to the testing guideline for auto flammability (solids - determination of relative self-ignition temperature) in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.16.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
372 °C
