- REPORTING FORMAT FOR THE ANALOGUE APPROACH
The target substance TOS is an oxime silane that undergoes rapid hydrolysis in aqueous to MEKO and the corresponding silanol. At the same time, silanols undergo continuous condensation reaction to produce higher molecular weight siloxanes which are in the molecular weight range large enough to be considered biologically unavailable. Therefore, the toxicity of TOS is due to the hydrolysis product MEKO and their values are comparable.

- Based on the experimental results obtained in a Daphnia magna Reproduction Test on the analogue substance 2-butanone oxime (21d-LC50 > 100 mg/L, 21d-EC50 > 100 mg/L and 21d-NOEC >= 100 mg/L ), the read-across approach was applied and the 21-LC50 (based on parental mortality) of butan-2-one O,O',O'',O'''-silanetetrayltetraoxime in Daphnia magna was determined to be > 106.90 mg/L, the 21-EC50 (based on reproduction) > 106.90 mg/L and the 21d-NOEC (based on reproduction) >= 106.90 mg/L.
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- not applicable
- Conclusions:
- Based on the read-across approach from experimental data on the analogue substance butanone oxime, the 21-LC50 (based on parental mortality) of butan-2-one O,O',O'',O'''-silanetetrayltetraoxime in Daphnia magna was determined to be > 106.90 mg/L, the 21-EC50 (based on reproduction) > 106.90 mg/L and the 21d-NOEC (based on reproduction) >= 106.90 mg/L
- Executive summary:
A Daphnia magna reproduction test was performed by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment according to OECD TG 211. The test was performed during 21 days. The 21d-EC50 (basis for effect: reproduction) and 21d-NOEC for test substance butanone oxime in Daphnia magna was determined to be >100 mg/L. The 21d-LC50 of parent daphnias was > 100 mg/L. Based on these results the read-across approach was applied and the 21-LC50 (based on parental mortality) of butan-2-one O,O',O'',O'''-silanetetrayltetraoxime in Daphnia magna was determined to be > 106.90 mg/L, the 21-EC50 (based on reproduction) > 106.90 mg/L and the 21d-NOEC (based on reproduction) >= 106.90 mg/L.
