Description of key information

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the flammability (contact with water and pyrophoric properties of solids and liquids) studies do not need to be conducted as experience in use and handling has shown that the substance does not possess these properties. In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the flammability (solids and gases) studies do not need to be conducted as the substance is a liquid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

For liquids the flash point determination is the relevant criterion for hazard assessment. As the flashpoint has been determined to be 114 °C the substance is not considered as flammable liquid in the meaning of CLP (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008)

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is non-pyrophoric and does not react with water liberating flammable gases. flammability of solids and gases is not applicable to a liquid substance. Considering the flashpoint of 114 °C (CC), the substance is not considered flammable following the criteria as laid out in CLP regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008)
