Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Polyol IXOL M125 is a dark brown, viscous liquid with a slightly ethereal odour. The melting point is -42.6°C at ca. 101.3 kPa and the substance decomposes at 295 °C, before boiling (Solvay, 2011). The density is 1.57 g/cm3at 20 °C, the relative density is 1.57, the vapour pressure is 0.0015 Pa at 20 °C, the log Kow ranges from 0 to 3.0 at 25 °C, the viscosity is 4400 mPa·s (dynamic) at 20°C (Solvay Fluor, 2012) and the water solubility is 4.1 g/L at 20 °C (Solvay Infra Bad Hönningen GmbH, 2010). The surface tension is 49.7 mN/m at 20 °C and a concentration of 1 g/L in water. Polyol IXOL M125 is therefore considered to be surface active (AQura, 2011). The flash point is 124.4 ºC at 101.3 kPa and the self-ignition temperature is 286 °C at 101.3 kPa (Physikalisch-Technisch Bundesanstalt, 2011). The substance is not expected to be flammable or to have explosive and oxidising properties. As the stability of Polyol IXOL M125 is not considered to be critical, the solubility in organic solvents and the identity of relevant degradation products do not need to be determined. Due to a lack of relevant functional groups, the dissociation constant does not need to be determined. Determination of the granulometry does not need to be conducted as the substance is marketed or used in a non-solid form.
