Endpoint:
surface tension
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
Feb 2007
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.5 (Surface Tension)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
other: ring tensiometer
Surface tension:
72.41 mN/m
Temp.:
20 °C
Conc.:
1 g/L

The first correction factor is: 0.954 (literature value of the surface tension of water divided by the measured value for water).

The second correction of the surface tension of 72.37 mN/m was made by the Harkins and Jordan equation resulting in a value of 72.41 mN/m for the test substance.

Conclusions:
The surface tension of 3-Morpholinone, 4-[4-[(5S)-5-(aminomethyl)-2-oxo-3-oxazolidinyl]phenyl]-, hydrochloride is 72.41 mN/m at 20 °C.
Executive summary:

The surface tension was determined according to the EU Method A.5. The study determined a mean value of 75.86 mN/m at 20 °C for the test substance.
