Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The test item did not demonstrate a well defined freezing point. It was observed to change from clear to white from a temperature of approximately 268 K (-5 °C) before transition to a white paste-like state. Although monitoring such a transition was very subjective, the test item was first described as a paste from a temperature of 266 K (-7 °C). Although no definitive temperature plateau coincided with these changes, a clear decrease in the rate of sample cooling was seen in the sample cooling curves from a temperature of 268 K (-5 °C), where the initial change in appearance was observed, consistent with a latent heat effect from a change of phase.
