The thermal behaviour of the substance was tested by DSC from 40° to 440°C. The onset of decomposition is below 500°C and the exotermic decomposition energy is less than 500J/g. Specific rules for adaptation as decribed in Column 2 Annex VII can be applied and the explosive properties test does not need to be conducted

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008), substances, mixtures and articles are classified as an unstable explosive on the basis of the flowchart in Figure 2.1.2 of the CLP Regulation. The test methods are described in Part I of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria.

Based on thermal analysis, in terms of decomposition temperature and energy, and known experience in handling and use, the substance is deemed not to be potentially explosive, therefore it is not classified.
