Description of key information

In the 96-hour acute toxicity study in fish a LC50 (96 hours) of above 100 mg/L was determined. (BASF, 1988)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a 96-hour acute toxicity study, zebra fish were exposed to the test substance at nominal concentrations of 0 (control, vehicle control) and 100 mg/L under static conditions. A stock solution consisting of 5 g of the test substance dissolved in 10 mL THF was used. Respective amounts of the stock solution were given into the test water to produce desired test concentrations. The 96-hour LC50 was above 100 mg/L. No mortality or any sublethal effects were observed in control, vehicle control and dosing groups. Swimming behavior, loss of equilibrium, respiratory function, exophtalmus and pigmentation were normal throughout the study period.
