The substance is used under highly controlled conditions and, therefore, exposure of the aquatic environment is low (see Section 9 for further details).

Due to the rapid hydrolysis of the registration substance, environmental fate is assessed based on the ultimate hydrolysis product, methylsilanetriol. Methylsilanetriol has a very low log Kow (-2.4) and is therefore not expected to bioaccumulate and is assessed as 'not hazardous' in the aquatic environment.
The following information is taken into account for any hazard / risk / persistency assessment:
The chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates that it is not necessary to conduct the simulation test on ultimate degradation in surface water and the sediment simulation test, or to identify degradation products.
