Description of key information

EU risk assessment report, p.18 -19 (2009), 3.1.3.2.1 Adsorption:
The Koc was calculated from the QSAR regression provided for organic acids in the TGD (logKoc = 0.60 logKow + 0.32), resulting in a Koc of 229 (logKoc of 2.36) (undissociated form). The Koc was normalised to pH 5 and pH 7 using the corrected logKow values, respectively. For pH 7, a pH–normalised Koc of 6 results. This value is used in the calculation of the solid-water partition coefficients. The solids-water partitioning coefficients for pH 7 are according to the TGD as follows: Kpsoil = 0.119 l kg-1, Kpsed = 0.299 l kg-1 and Kpsusp = 0.597 l kg-1. For pH 5, a pH–normalised Koc of 85 results. This value is used in the calculation of the solidwater partition coefficients. The solids-water partitioning coefficients for pH 5 are according to the TGD as follows: Kpsoil = 1.7 l kg-1, Kpsed = 4.24 l kg-1 and Kpsusp = 8.48 l kg-1.
