Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

There is no information concerning sediment toxicity for n-Decyl methacrylate available. The results of physical and chemical properties and the environmental fate and pathways of the structurally closely related Isodecyl methacrylate (i-C10-Ester) are considered as representative for sediment toxicity of n-Decyl methacrylate (C10 -Ester).

Since there is no concern for exposure of sediment organisms to Isodecyl methacrylate there is also no concern for n-Decyl methacrylate for exposure of sediment organisms. The release of Isodecyl methacrylate and n-Decyl methacrylate into water is very limited due to the low water solubility (199 µg/L, Isodecyl methacrylate)). The water solubility of n-Decyl methacrylate is expected to be in the same order of magnitude as Isodecyl methacylate. Therefore, occurrence in the sediment will be very limited as well. Moreover, Isodecyl methacrylate is readily biodegradable (failing 10-day window) and will not persist in sediment. n-Decyl methacrylate is expected to readily biodegrade as well and therefore will not persist in the sediment as well.
