Additional information

The toxicity test to aquatic algae (Scheerbaum 2012) performed according to EPA OPPTS 850.5400, EPA OPPTS 850.1000 and GLP was rated with RL=1 (reliable without restrictions) and used as a key study.

In this study the test item was found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata after 72 with the following effect values (mean measured concentrations):

The EC50-values with 95 % confidence intervals for inhibition of biomass (EbC50), specific growth rate (ErC50) and yield (EyC50) after 72 hours were 12.7 (11.6 – 13.7) mg/L, 29.2 (28.0 – 30.6) mg/L and 13.3 (12.3 – 14.2) mg/L, respectively.

The EC10-values with 95 % confidence intervals for inhibition of biomass (EbC10), specific growth rate (ErC10) and yield (EyC10) after 72 hours were 5.77 ( 3.74 – 7.23) mg/L, 10.6 (9.37 – 12.0) mg/L and 6.92 (5.65 – 8.38) mg/L, respectively.

The NOEC-values for inhibition of biomass, specific growth rate and yield after 72 hours were 4.38 mg/L, 8.21 mg/L and 4.38 mg/L, respectively.
