Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Acute toxicity data for the test item are available for the three trophic levels (fish, daphnia, algae). The lowest EC50for fish with a 96-h EC50of 4.75 mg/L (based on dissolved test item concentration), observed for the effect in a GLP-conform standard test (EPA OPPTS 850.1075) with Pimephales promelas (Scheerbaum, 2012). This value is selected as the acute reference value for classification.

The lowest chronic EC10for algae is a 72-h ErC10of 10.6 mg/L (based on dissolved test item concentration) for the effect of the test item on growth rate of Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata (Scheerbaum, 2012). This value was selected as chronic reference value for classification.

Classification according to CLP, i.e. Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, 2ndATP (Regulation (EU) No 286/2011) and 3rdATP (Regulation (EU) No 618/2012):

Acute (short-term) aquatic hazard:

·        LC50is > 1mg/L

--> No classification for ACUTE AQUATIC HAZARD

Long-term aquatic hazard based on acute and chronic data of the product:

·        EC10is > 1mg/L

·        readily biodegradable

·        log Pow (2.89) < 4

--> No classification for LONG-TERM AQUATIC HAZARD

Since the substance is not classified in accordance to regulation (EC) 1272/2008 neither an exposure assessment nor a risk characterisation are required in the sense of regulation (EC) 1907/2006.
